A DAY OF TENNIS FUN—to benefit Waterfront Playhouse, at Higgs Beach & Bayview Park courts. Sat., Feb. 6, 7:45am at both parks. Play 8am-2pm. CREATE BEAUTIFUL LOW-MAINTENANCE LANDSCAPES-- Plant expert, author and columnist, Robert Haehle will return to Key West to present a free evening workshop, “Lazy Days in Paradise: Cut Your Gardening Time with a Low-Maintenance Landscape,”on Wed., Feb. 10 from 5:30 to 7pm at the West Martello Fort as part of the Key West Garden Club’s 2010 Horticulture Education Series. This in-depth workshop is open to the community and will provide step-by-step how to’s and photos, followed by a social where Haehle will give one-on-one answers to individual questions. “A DAY OF LOVE AND PLAY” CHILDREN’S FAIR- -Bring the whole family to the Montessori Children’s School, 1221 Varela Street in Key West on Valentine’s Day for a fun day of Love and Play. On Sun., Feb. 14 from 11am-2 pm, the school grounds will host a fun fair with lots of games, face painting, balloons, music, dancing, a bouncy house and lots of prizes for the children. $5 per person admission includes all games and activities as well as Valentine treats. 5TH ANNUAL FLORIDA KEYS SEAFOOD FESTIVAL-- Sat., Jan. 16, Bayview Park, Key West, 11am - 9pm. Free admission. KEY WEST ART CENTER PREVIEW PARTY-- for the 25th Annual Key West Craft Show, Fri., Jan. 15 5:30 to 7:30pm. Local artists will preview their work Friday that will be included in the big show the end of January. This is an opportunity to meet the talented artists. Ceramic creations by Art Center members Maggie Ruley and Georgina Hosek will be featured along with wonderfully fun painted furniture by Gale Upmal. Silver Jewelery originals by Ronnetta Krause and unique feather art by Anne Schroeder. Functional works in wood will also be displayed. LIL CONCH TOT SWAP- -On Sun., Jan. 24 the Florida Keys Healthy Start Coalition will sponsor a Kids Clothing and Equipment Shopping event, at Hurricane Hole Marina. Drop off items from 11-1, shopping from 2-4pm. Swap your clean and gently used children’s clothing & equipment for new clothes and items. Sizes newborn - kids size 12, shoes size 1-14. Swings, pack-n-plays, bounce’s, strollers, bikes, play-mats, toys, DVD’s, maternity clothes and more! How does it work? Receive 1 credit for each article of clothing brought to the event. Use your credits to ‘purchase’ NEW clothes or items. 1 credit per clothing item, larger equipment items are worth more. Cost: $5 /person with clothes or equipment. $10 without clothes. There will be free car seat inspections by certified technicians, safety kits and give-aways from MC Sheriff’s office.
