FLEEING FROM ADULT STORE ON

Special Report
Michael C. Tomazin, 38, is a Navy reservist from Virginia. He must be a pretty smart guy because, when he was arrested last Saturday afternoon, he told Key West Police Officer Stephen Mitchell that he was in military intelligence, temporarily assigned to the elite Joint Interagency Task Force South (JIATF-S) here. Why did he get arrested? He allegedly stole two sex videos from Truman Adult Books & Video. And according to store manager Sammy Hammers, this may not have been the first time. Hammers told officers that Tomazin stole two other videos a week earlier.
Hammers told Key West The Newspaper that Tomazin was in the store about 3pm last Saturday. “He picked out a couple of DVDs and ran out and rode away on his bicycle,” Hammers said. “I ran out and jumped into a car with the store owner and we chased the guy, going north on Truman and then left on Frances Street. We got the police on the phone and described the guy and kept them informed about where we were. We eventually lost him, but the cops stopped him as he was entering the Navy base at the Trumbo entrance,” Hammers said.
According to the police report, Mitchell saw a man matching the description of the suspect riding a bicycle with two DVDs in his hand. As the man was entering the Navy base, Mitchell told the military guard to stop him. When Mitchell asked the man about the DVDs, the man tossed them to Mitchell and attempted to leave.
Mitchell restrained the suspect by grabbing his shirt and then attempted to place handcuffs on him. The man, subsequently identified as Tomazin, repeatedly attempted to pull away from Mitchell.
At that point, Hammers and the owner of the store arrived on the scene and identified Tomazin as the alleged shoplifter. Navy police were also called to the scene. Tomazin was placed under arrest for retail theft and resisting arrest without violence and transported to the Monroe County Detention Center on Stock Island.

I can't remember the titles, but I think you can find them up near the counter in a special display called "Mike's Picks."

The names of the 4 DVD's are quite obscene. Therefor I will not be able to tell you them. They are now back on the floor to be sold.
